How do I move my Raindrop bookmarks to Bulletin?
Download an HTML backup from Raindrop (Settings, then Backups, then Create new), then upload it at yourbulletin.com/import, and Bulletin brings in every link with a fresh title and picture.

Move your whole Raindrop library
- Open app.raindrop.io in a browser and sign in. On a phone, use your phone's browser: Raindrop's export lives in its web app.
- Go to Settings, then Backups.
- Click Create new.
- Wait for Raindrop's email, then come back to the Backups page and download the HTML file.
- Sign in to Bulletin and go to yourbulletin.com/import.
- Click or upload a file and choose the HTML file. Bulletin shows how many links it found.
- Under Where they go, keep Save to your Bulletin, or choose Add to a list.
- Click Import. Keep the tab open while it runs: links go in one at a time, and you can stop at any point.
Titles and pictures keep filling in for a few minutes after the import finishes.
Keep a collection together as a list
Bulletin doesn't read Raindrop's collections from the file, so bring each collection you care about into its own list.
- On your Bulletin page, make a list for the collection (a list has to exist before an import can fill it).
- In Raindrop on the web or the desktop app, open the collection.
- Click Export and choose HTML.
- On yourbulletin.com/import, upload the file, choose Add to a list, and pick the list.
- Click Import, then repeat for the next collection.
Any list can be shared as a link when you're ready, and people who open it can save it to their own Bulletin.
What comes across
| From Raindrop | On Bulletin |
|---|---|
| Links | Every web link in the file |
| Titles and cover pictures | Fetched fresh from each page |
| Collections | Not automatic. Import a collection into a list (see above) |
| Tags, notes, highlights | Not carried over |
| Date you saved it | Not carried over. Links keep the file's order |
| Uploaded files (PDFs, images) | Not in Raindrop's backup either. Raindrop has a separate ZIP download for those |
| Links already on your Bulletin | Skipped and counted as "already there" |
| Pages that no longer exist | Skipped and counted as failed |
How many links you can bring
Your first 500 imported links are free. For a bigger library, add 1,000 more links for $5, up to 4,000 at a time, and the extra links never expire. If a file has more new links than you have left, nothing is imported, so nothing gets cut off halfway: split it by collection and import in parts.
Imported links are private unless you add them to a list you share, and they don't count toward the 50 private bullets on the free plan.
Who should pick which
Stay with Raindrop if you rely on nested collections, tags and highlights, or on Pro features like full-text search and permanent copies of pages. Raindrop's free plan has unlimited bookmarks, it shares collections too, and it has apps on every platform. Bulletin is simpler and doesn't carry those things over. Pick Bulletin if you want your links on one visual page you can search by what you remember about them, save from WhatsApp or your iPhone as easily as from Chrome, and turn into lists you send to people.
Questions
- Can I export from Raindrop on the free plan?
- Yes. Raindrop's free plan includes import and export. Daily automatic backups are a Pro feature, but you can create a backup by hand any time.
- Which file should I download from Raindrop: HTML, CSV or TXT?
- HTML or CSV. HTML is the format Raindrop recommends. From a CSV, Bulletin reads only the url column, so cover pictures and links inside your notes don't come along. A TXT file (one link per line) also works for a single collection.
- Can I export Raindrop on my phone?
- On iPhone, the Raindrop app can share a collection: open it, tap Select, Select all, then Actions, then Share. For a full backup on any phone, open app.raindrop.io in the phone's browser. Raindrop's Android app can't export yet.
- Will my Raindrop tags and collections come across?
- No. Bulletin keeps the links and fetches each page again. To keep a collection together, import it into its own list.
- What if I import the same file twice?
- Links already on your Bulletin are skipped, so nothing doubles up.
- How long does an import take?
- Links go in one at a time so every one gets a proper picture. Bulletin shows an estimate before a big import starts. Keep the tab open until it's done.
- Do I need to delete my Raindrop account?
- No. Exporting doesn't change anything in Raindrop. Keep it until you're happy with your Bulletin.
